ALEX SPENCE - GRIP

In the beginning Alex was born. He grew up and got older and through his life lived, loved and learned. He was a bastard child, not through legacy but through his own behavior. Spending the first 26 years of his life alone and without friends his greatest challenge has been learning how to play nicely with others. Choosing a filmmaking career, Alex spends all his days learning and relearning how to master the art of playing, with others! Today, he is content to be mildly liked by those around him he considers knowing his name.

JUSTAN ROSS - SOUND

After deciding he was too sexy to be in FRONT of the camera he decided to head to the Vancouver Film School. Graduating in 2000 and having a strong talent for the sound department he made the decision to head to the art capitol of Canada. Calgary. After sleeping with the right people he made his way on to set as a sound trainee. He was a trainee on such classics as Twelve Mile Road with Tom Selleck and Hollywood Lives with the very used looking Farrah Fawcett. Finally earning his title as Sound Assitant, it was just up from there. Iʼm sure you all remember such greats as Dawn Anna, Comeback Season and Broken Trail. His favorite still to this day was playing in the mud and rain with his good buddy Paul Gross in Passchendale. Oh the tales he can tell. Feel free to ask him all the dirt he has on some of your favorite actors. He now has his own gear and plans to become filthy rich. Sadly because he bought his own gear he can no longer feed his family. Wife Lindsay (owner of Babes in Arms, check them out at www.babesinarms.ca) and his extremely cute and funny daughter Neko. Please pray for them.

ERIC BOUDREAU - SCRIPT SUPERVISOR

A lot of people don't really know what a script supervisor does. I don't even really know. But I know what I will do for you, if you want me to be your script super. I will watch for continuity of action, and listen for continuity of dialogue, as well as check for continuity of wardrobe, set decoration, and props. (I know it often looks like there are four cameras used to shoot a scene, but usually there's only one or two. The beginning of your scene might be shot five hours after the end of it. I'm the someone who's going to pay attention to when the wine was poured, what hand the wine was held in, and whether the glass was half empty or half full?)
But that's not all! I'll also keep notes for you. Notes on which takes you liked or didn't like, notes for the camera people, and notes for the sound. I'll even time out your script beforehand, to give you an estimate of how long it will run as a movie, and time your scenes as we shoot them to see if we're on target or not. And if you want me to, I'll even suggest coverage, mention shots you might want later, though you don't know it right now.
Basically my job is to make sure your job editing this movie goes as smoothly as possible. Usually if you're directing a movie you'll have enough on your mind to make two people go crazy. So let me go crazy with you. Let me be you script supervisor.

ROB (Bobby) VANONEN - PRODUCTION DESIGNER

Bobby is the MacGyver of the production, a man of many talents and unfazed disposition. Instead of the customary ripping of hairs, getting panicky or depressed when Jen and Michal decide they need something that is out of the budget, Bobby just shrugs his wide shoulders and makes it happen. Weather it’s a last minute wedding ring, a serial number or a chandelier, he either has it, makes it, or know where to get it. Bobby is not only responsible for the decor of the wedding, he is also the Sharpie tattoo master, a skill he is considerably better in than back tracking a truck.
Bobby is also responsible for the beautiful storyboard of fil

DANIELLE FRENCH - MUSIC DIRECTOR

I strive for a healthy right brain/left brain balance through pursuing various artistic/creative endeavors and then attempting to market them afterwards. However, my main passion is music! I am a singer/songwriter with three independent CD’s of original material released to date and I have toured relentlessly across North America over the past 12 years in support of these projects. My philosophy is “it doesn’t hurt to ask” and thanks to this philosophy (and a bit of luck!) I have had the pleasure of working some of the most amazing artists in Canada including Burton Cummings, Matthew Good, Martin Tielli and members of Spirit of the West and Sarah McLachlan’s band to name just a few. Career highlights to date include appearing on the Rita McNeil show and being invited to perform on the Calgary leg of Lilith Fair.
Recently, I have been visualizing short films to my music, which led me to produce and direct a short film to one of my songs titled Avalon. This film appears as a DVD enhancement on my latest CD Shadows and was screened at the herland festival, the Calgary International Film Festival and Theatre Junction’s Random Acts festival.
When I was approached to be the music director on this film, it felt like a natural extension of my skills and interests and I am looking forward to sourcing and/or writing the music for this project. If you are an independent artist with a professional CD and you own all the rights to your music, drop me a line- perhaps one of YOUR songs could be featured in The Wedding!

ANGELA MCINTOSH - HEAD MAKEUP ARTIST

Since graduating from Vancouver Film SchooI have been working as a full-time makeup artist for four years, making up people glamorous, gory and into characters of all kinds. Often most of what I do is help people feel a little sassier for the day. Wedding makeups are always fun for me, being involved in the buzz of the most important day of a couple’s life. While watching the latest married couple ascending back down the aisle towards all of us looking on, I wanted to just “Whoo hoo!” at them. I just ended up gushing a whole lot and yelling it in my head…
I have had the opportunity to assist as part of the recent Emmy Award winning Makeup Department of the HBO produced movie of the week “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee”! My other production credits include: “Into the West”, the upcoming feature “Passchendele”, the Calgary Opera’s “Frobisher”, “Carmen” and “Rigoletto”, and Paperny films’ upcoming series “The Week the Woment Went”.
I am a big believer in the importance of independent production, which is always such a unified effort and full of challenges where I find all ideas are shared freely, with a positive collective energy. Some professional crews I’ve worked with are: 2007’s AMPIA Award winning “Humane Society Commercial”, “Bloody Chocolates” and “The Curse of the Piano”.
When this girl isn’t working at the DT M.A.C Counter or on other makeup jazz she’s focusing on enjoying everyday- snowboarding, canvas works. . You’ve probably seen me bombing through downtown on my grey Kuwahara. I’ll try most anything once and try to surprise myself.

ROXANNE WONG - STUNT COORDINATOR

Roxanne is the accomplished can do-can bring-can make happen gal of the crew. Beside having exotic skills like mastering My Jong Low Horn Kung Fu and the ever useful proficiency in butterfly knives, Roxanne also knows every person in calgary and more importantly every hot guy in the city. We know since we’ve tested it. Getting 60 extras dressed as wedding guests was as easy as ordering take out. Roxanne is also very gifted in the little things some people call details. We have never made so many decisions, nor answered so many questions in out lives since we’ve met her.
Even though we would like to take credit for it, Roxanne is not only the one that thought about the bride and the maid of honor should have a manicure, but got them one for free.
